The Applegarden Montessori School Calendar
2010-2011 TUITION INFORMATION AND CALENDAR
| Payments |
Tuition and childcare fees for the school year term are paid in 10 monthly
installments. The first payment is an advance deposit for the tenth installment
period from May 19 to June 15, 2011 - and is due March 1st, 2010
or at the time your child is first registered in the school, usually within
two weeks of your receipt of a tuition contract. The nine remaining installments
are due on the 1st day of each month, September through May. Late payments
incur a 1.5% finance charge monthly. Invoices for tuition installments are
sent out on the 15th day of each month and should be paid in full by the
1st day of the following month. Statements are mailed on the first
day of each month and summarize all invoices, payments and finance charges
for your records. Sibling discounts of 5% may be arranged when two or more
children from the same family are concurrently enrolled. |
| Annual Payments |
If you would like to pay for the entire school year in September, you may discount 2% from your total tuition payment. No discounts are possible after Sept. 30th. |
| Registration Fees |
Registration
fees for the summer session and fall programs are $30 and $50
respectively. These fees are not refundable. |
| School Development Fees |
You are
required to deposit $500 toward the fall school development fee soon after
you first register your child for a school year program. This fee is not refundable.
Parents may deduct $300 of this payment from any tuition installment when they have completed 20 hours of service for the school.
However, parents may deduct $300 of this payment from any month's tuition when you have completed 20 hours of service for the
school. Please return the Parent Work-Exchange Report found in your Parent Handbook to claim your earned
tuition credit. The school development fee plus one full month's tuition
deposit, reserves your child's place in the school program prior to the first
day of attendance. |
| Tuition Payments |
Write checks to: The Proludium Corporation and mail to the school business office, 5667 Thornhill Drive, Oakland, CA. 94611. A $30 fee will be assessed to your child's account if a check is returned to us by your bank. Late payments accrue a 1.5% finance charge monthly and compromise your child's continuance in our program. If a child's account has amounts unpaid for more than 60 days, the child will not be permitted to attend school until all fees are paid and may be dropped from the school roster. A $25 per month late penalty will also be assessed to your account. |
Withdrawal From School Programs |
Adequate written notice(at least one month in advance) to the school business office is required to make
a withdrawal from any school program (including childcare). Summer or school year tuition deposits due in March and April are not refunded unless advance written notice is received. May 15th, 2010 is the final date notice may be received by the school for a refund of the advance summer deposit. June 1, 2010 is
the final date notice may be received for a refund of the fall tuition deposit. After October 1st, 2010, one month's written notice is required to withdraw
a child from a school program. However, no notice of withdrawal will
be accepted after February 1, 2011 because no withdrawal from any school program
is allowed after March 1, 2011. After that date, parents are held
responsible for the full tuition contracted to the end of the school year regardless
of the reasons given for a child's withdrawal. The same notice is required
for withdrawal from childcare programs as from any other school program. No
registration fees or school development fees are refundable. |
Fees for Childcare and Extra Sessions |
Each family using the childcare program will owe the following fees:
$1,720 - tuition includes all 19 teacher workday and vacation
full-time childcare
$9.50/hr. for scheduled pro-rated childcare (no teacher workdays
included)
$10.50/hr. for all unscheduled, drop-in, workday or vacation
childcare
$11.85/hr. for extra school sessions
$1 per minute for children left at school after our 6 p.m. closing time.
Late pick-up (of more than 5 minutes) of a child from a school session or from childcare will result in a charge for one full hour of unscheduled childcare.
|
| Full-time Childcare |
Full-time annual childcare is available excluding only the month of August and the first few days of September, the week between Christmas Eve Day and New Year's Day, and a few other days. Families needing this program owe full-time school year and summer fees plus the pro-rated school year workday and vacation childcare fee. |
