Quality full and part-time childcare with a low student:teacher
ratio is offered year-round for children from 3 to 6 years of age before
and after any school program. Our childcare program includes naps for
all who need them, nutritious snacks, special art, music, dramatic and
tumbling activities, and nurturing, attentive care.
Children from 2-years-9-months through kindergarten
age work and play together in a stimulating and beautifully prepared environment.
Each child is nurtured toward independence, initiative, self-discipline
and social cooperation by skilled and loving teachers. Many children attend
only the morning class. The morning, which is longer than the typical
preschool morning, allows time for a lengthened indoor work cycle, extended
outdoor play, snacks, food preparation, and lunch with friends at school.
The afternoon session is similar to the morning, only occurs in a shorter
time frame. Full-time participants attend both the morning and afternoon
sessions, 5 days a week, and may participate as well in the extended childcare
program.
This is a special class for the older children in the
school, (ages 4 1/2 - 6), all of whom attend either or both preschool
sessions described above and come closer together with peers for an hour
each day. It is a culmination of the Montessori sequence and prepares
the children to enter kindergarten or first grade. Our kindergroup is
a legally acceptable alternative to public school kindergarten.
Summerschool is a delightful introduction to the school
for new students and an enjoyable summertime activity for all children.
Our summerschool offers preschool programs Monday through Friday mornings
and Montessori-childcare in the afternoons. A particular cultural
subjects unit is emphasized each summer session. Full and part-time childcare
are also offered throughout the week.
